TitletownTech Extends Expertise in Technology and Venture Capital to Microsoft AI Co-Innovation Lab

TitletownTech, Microsoft, Green Bay Packers launch manufacturing-focused AI co-innovation lab on the campus of the University Wisconsin-Milwaukee, the first of its kind in the United States

MOUNT PLEASANT, Wis. (May 8, 2024) – Today, Microsoft launched the country’s first manufacturing-focused AI co-innovation lab, which was officially announced by President Joe Biden and Microsoft Vice Chair and President Brad Smith at Gateway Technical College’s iMET Center in Southeast Wisconsin.

This initiative, aimed at accelerating Wisconsin into a national leader in advanced manufacturing by connecting Wisconsin’s brightest manufacturers, entrepreneurs, and established companies with leading AI experts and developers, is part of Microsoft’s expanded multi-billion-dollar investment in Wisconsin, which includes technology infrastructure and workforce skilling.

In partnership with Microsoft and the Connected Systems Institute at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee along with a coalition of public and private sector representatives, including the Green Bay Packers and WEDC, this initiative extends TitletownTech’s expertise in technology and venture capital to companies, startups, and corporate spinouts, to build, grow, and stay in the state.

“Building on our longstanding partnership with Microsoft, we're excited to expand our collaborative efforts through Microsoft’s Wisconsin AI Co-Innovation Lab for Manufacturing alongside the Connected Systems Institute at UW-Milwaukee,” said TitletownTech Managing Partner Craig Dickman. “As we explore strategic investment opportunities in AI to revolutionize manufacturing, we look forward to empowering entrepreneurs and enterprise to drive economic growth across Wisconsin.”

“The Green Bay Packers are excited to continue our partnership with Microsoft, which we first established with TitletownTech near Lambeau Field, and now will expand and enhance as we collaborate with the AI Co-Innovation Lab,” said Green Bay Packers President and CEO Mark Murphy.

As part of this initiative, TitletownTech will establish a full-time operating presence, TitletownTech-Milwaukee, embedded in the AI Co-Innovation Lab on the campus of UW-Milwaukee.

Through its investment activities and by leveraging its extensive network within the state’s startup ecosystem, TitletownTech will enable deep engagement, provide venture perspective, and activate startup and corporate participation in the AI Co-Innovation lab. Additionally, this presence will support the technology transfer opportunities from the lab to the venture capital markets for necessary funding.

TitletownTech-Milwaukee will serve as an extension of the core work and mission of TitletownTech, creating opportunity and engagement across the state.
